CAREY—The annual Carey Fest was a big success, despite some not so perfect weather conditions.
The three-day event kicked off on Thursday, August 2, with a Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase, vintage baseball game and fireworks.
On Friday, August 3, the 2012 Carey Fest Queen Katie Driggers, Junior Queen Ella Clinger and Junior King Duane Gibson were crowned. Commercial Savings Bank was co-sponsor of the Mustang Sally concert. Pantasia also performed on Friday.
The annual parade was the highlight for Saturday, August 4. Grand Marshalls were Pete Fanning and his wife, Ruth. A CSB-sponsored concert with Phil Dirt & the Dozers had to be cancelled due to storms.
Commercial Savings Bank employees were busy throughout the event volunteering at Carey Athletic Boosters and Music Boosters food tents, selling 50/50 tickets for the Chamber of Commerce and at the Twilight 5K and Twilight Trot. CSB also had a parade in the float to promote an upcoming Mike Albert and the Big E concert at the Wyandot County Fair on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. in the Junior Fair Arena. Employees passed out "drums" at during the parade at the Chamber booth to promote the upcoming concert.
