Dr. Ken Mayland to Present "How to Profit in a Crummy Economy" at Commercial Savings Bank Economic Outlook Luncheon

(FINDLAY, Ohio, January 27, 2012) — Commercial Savings Bank, in partnership with Findlay·Hancock County Alliance, is proud to announce that one of the nation's top forecasters by USA Today, Dr. Ken Mayland, President, ClearView Economics, LLC will serve as the keynote speaker for this year’s economic outlook luncheon, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 21 at the Findlay Country Club.

More than one hundred fifty business and civic leaders will be in attendance as Mayland addresses the economy and more in what should prove to be an entertaining and informative event. 

Dr. Ken Mayland was previously the Chief Economist of two major financial institutions (First Pennsylvania Bank and KeyCorp).  Graduating with degrees in economics from MIT (undergraduate) and the University of Pennsylvania (M.A. and Ph.D.), he has spent more than thirty five years studying the business cycle and providing economic analyses to a variety of constituencies. 

Ken was the second best forecaster in USA Today’s forecasting panel for all of 2003.  Bloomberg Magazine (November 2004) identified Dr. Ken as the nation’s top forecaster in its mid-2003 to mid-2004 tally of forecasts.  For the next forecast year (mid-2004 to mid-2005), Bloomberg Magazine (December 2005) had Dr. Ken as the best forecaster (tied) of the unemployment rate and the fifth best forecaster of the inflation rate.  In the first half of 2006,  USA Today once again identified Mayland as one of the nation's top ten forecasters for 2005.   In December 2006, Business Week determined that Dr. Ken was the #1 most accurate forecaster for 2006.
